Job Description / Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Publisher Relations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining relationships with game development companies, publishers and other entities that own IP rights for electronic games.
You will be responsible for negotiating terms and conditions, securing game IP licenses, and fostering long-term partnerships that enhance the impact on GOTF across various functional verticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Building: Identify and establish contacts with key decision-makers in game development companies, publishers and other relevant entities. Develop and nurture strong relationships to facilitate cooperation and collaboration.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations for game IP licensing agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with our company’s objectives and strategies.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, new game releases, and the competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities for collaboration.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies for engaging with publishers, including identifying key targets, creating outreach plans, and setting partnership goals.
- Contract Management: Understand and manage the legal aspects of IP licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions. Work closely with legal counsel as needed.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including Marketing and PR, Event Planning and Competitions, to ensure seamless integration of game IPs into our Phygital sports events.
- Promotion and Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing and PR teams to develop promotional strategies that maximize the visibility and impact of our events, both online and offline.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all interactions, negotiations, and agreements. Provide regular reports on the status of publisher relations and partnership development.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in B2B dealmaking, preferably in the esports or gaming industry.
- Strong understanding of IP licensing, legal considerations, and contract management.
- Proven track record of successful negotiations and relationship management.
- In-depth knowledge of the esports landscape and various forms of collaboration within the industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. C2 fluent spoken English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple cross-functional interactions and joint KPIs. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in digital marketing and brand collaboration strategies.
