FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves to headline Phygital Fighting at GOTF 2026

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will be the official digital title for the Phygital Fighting competition at Games of the Future 2026 this summer.

The event will take place on 7-8 August 2026 at the Athletics Sports Complex “Qazaqstan” in Astana, Kazakhstan. Elite MMA athletes will compete in a two-stage battle that combines digital gameplay with live combat and has a total prize pool of US$500,000.

Phygital Fighting is one of the toughest formats in phygital sport and it was hugely popular during its debut at Games of the Future 2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It welcomed an average of 4,000 fans to the arenas every day and reached 27.7 million views online.

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is a well-known name in fighting games. Its return supports Phygital International’s plan to work with major publishers to bring top titles into the phygital format. The title boasts a long history in competitive gaming, strong global appeal, and an active fan base.

William Al-Badeesh, Publisher Relations Manager at Phygital International, said, “Working with globally recognized titles such as FATAL FURY is central to positioning the Games of the Future as a leading international platform. Having one of the most legendary fighting games in our roster raises the level of competition and reinforces its position at the intersection of sport, gaming and entertainment.”

The Games of the Future Astana 2026 will feature a total of eight disciplines across esports and phygital sports, bringing together over 900 participants from more than 50 nationalities. With more than 100,000 spectators expected across all venues, the event continues to demonstrate how phygital sport is shaping a new model for global competition.

More updates on publishers, team qualification, and broadcast plans will be shared on official Phygital International and GOTF channels.

To relive the action from 2025, fans can watch Phygital Fighting matches from Abu Dhabi on the official OTT platform.
