Astana has been officially confirmed as the Host City for the Games of the Future 2026, set to take place in summer next year.
Phygital International has officially confirmed Astana as the Host City for the Games of the Future 2026 — marking a major milestone for the phygital movement and its expansion into Central Asia.
In the summer of 2026, the Kazakhstan capital will transform into a global arena for the world’s top phygital athletes, fans, and innovators. Thousands are expected to compete across hybrid disciplines that blend physical skill with digital gameplay — redefining what competition looks like in the 21st century.
Announced as host nation in late 2024, Kazakhstan impressed the Phygital International Expert Committee, showcasing world-class infrastructure, a strong sporting legacy, and a bold vision for the future. As the capital city, Astana in particular stood out for its dynamic energy, its role as a rising sport-tech hub, and its deep investment in youth, innovation, and global collaboration.
Nis Hatt, CEO of Phygital International said “We’re proud to announce Astana as the host city for the Games of the Future 2026. Astana is a city that embodies the spirit of the future. With its proven experience in delivering global events and its commitment to youth and technology, it’s the perfect stage to shape the next era of phygital sport.”
“The Games of the Future 2026 in Astana will be an unforgettable, world-class experience, welcoming participants from 100 countries, along with a huge wave of fans from around the world,”” announced during the World Phygital Summit Alibek Khasenov, Head of the official delivery authority for GOTF 2026 in Kazakhstan “Our country has deep experience in hosting global events, particularly those that champion innovation and youth engagement. Astana is ready to lead the way.”
The Games will offer more than just elite competition. Fans can expect immersive experiences across the city, including interactive fan zones, cultural showcases, emerging tech displays, and much more. The event is designed to engage not only athletes, but also creators, startups, and the next generation of digital natives.
The 2026 edition will follow the much-anticipated Games of the Future 2025 in Abu Dhabi this December. Together, these events represent the rapid rise of a global movement that is pushing the boundaries of what sport can be.
