Games of the Future 2026 bidding process concludes

Games of the Future 2026 bidding process concludes

The formal evaluation of bids to host the Games of the Future 2026 has now concluded. A selection of prospective hosts has been evaluated by the Phygital International Evaluation Commission, with each bid assessed on its individual merits, before an overall winning bid selected.

The selected host will be revealed on the 13th October 2024 during a Bid Award Ceremony in the iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai. Fittingly, the ceremony takes place in the UAE, home of the upcoming Games of the Future 2025.

The Bid Award Ceremony will not only provide an opportunity to recognise the winning host of GOTF 2026, but will also bring together members of the World Phygital Community, bidding nations and cities, dignitaries and sporting heroes. Attendees will see the winning bidder take their place amongst a world-class line up of future hosts who will each bring new innovations and distinct local flair to the ever-expanding phygital movement worldwide.

Seven nations and cities have put themselves into the running for the 2026 / 2027 Games, and with the closing of the evaluation window for 2026, the opportunity remains for more prospective hosts to put themselves forward as hosts of the Games of the Future 2027. The deadline for submitting applications to host the tournament in 2027 is December 31, 2024.

The 2026 Bid Award Ceremony will mark the next stage on the Games of the Future roadmap, and present an opportunity to learn more about the future plans for the tournament.
