Phygital International has officially confirmed PUBG: Battlegrounds as the title for the Battle Royale discipline at the Games of the Future 2026 in Astana – adding another globally renowned esports title to this year’s tournament lineup.
The competition will take place at Beeline Arena from 31 July-2 August, where teams from across the international PUBG esports community will compete for a US$1,000,000 prize pool.
As one of the defining titles within the Battle Royale genre, PUBG: Battlegrounds brings an established international competitive structure that spans Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Australia. Its addition to the Games of the Future reflects the tournament’s ambition to unite globally recognized esports titles, leading publishers, and elite players on one international stage.
While phygital disciplines combine digital performance with physical sport, the Battle Royale format shifts the competition fully into the digital arena, where teams compete entirely through in-game performance across every stage of the tournament, balancing survival, positioning, rotations, and high-pressure firefights in a constantly shrinking battlefield.
“PUBG: Battlegrounds has cultivated one of esports’ most fiercely competitive scenes since its release, with a global professional circuit that continues to raise the bar for Battle Royale competition. Bringing that level of competition to the Games of the Future 2026 underscores our commitment to elevating competitive gaming on the global stage. Astana will be where the world’s top Battle Royale talent converges, and we’re proud to give them a platform worthy of their skill,” said William Al-Badeesh, Publisher Relations & IP Licensing Lead at Phygital International.
The announcement follows a growing list of confirmed titles for GOTF 2026, reinforcing the event’s position at the intersection of gaming, sport, and entertainment. PUBG: Battlegrounds joins Dota 2, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Counter-Strike 2 among the titles already confirmed for this year’s competition.
